Editorial Changes, also referred to as Author's Alterations (AAs), are text or design changes that the author makes to their original supplied materials or their original requests, or which deviate from previously-requested corrections.
***Please note that editorial changes can only be made to OnPress-designed files. We cannot alter author-supplied PDFs.
Pricing for Basic Text Edits:
$50 base charge + $2 per editorial correction. Basic Text Edits are simple changes which include, but are not limited to, changes made to one place in the book (for example: correcting a typo, removing or replacing a sentence, removing hard returns, or adding/removing italics/underline/bold text) and global changes when the same error appears several times in the book (for example: changing the spelling of someone's name). Each single change or global change counts as 1 Text Edit. Pricing is per round, so if you reject your proof with 5 corrections, the cost is $60. If you receive the revised proof, and find 5 more corrections, that would be another $60, not covered under the first round. Please proof carefully!
New Text:
$30 each - New text includes replacing or adding a full paragraph, or replacing or adding 1 full page of text.
$75 each - New text that requires the replacement/insertion of 2 or more consecutive pages (such as a chapter).
Images:
$2 each - Replacing an image already present in manuscript with a new or updated image.
$50 each - Adding a brand new image that was not present in the original manuscript submission.
Design Changes:
Design changes prior to final approval are typically free of charge. Pricing can vary for significant changes. We will reach out to you with the costs once they have been determined.
All approved designs are final. Any design changes requested after author approval will incur charges.
Supplying a New File:
If you supply your own print-ready PDF for either cover or manuscript, receive a proof, and realize you must make changes and submit a replacement PDF, a $49 fee will apply to have our team re-review and re-prepare the new PDF.
